Adam Clutterbuck
Sue Purkiss has enjoyed parallel careers in teaching and writing. Up to now, her books have been for children, but she has one for adults coming out shortly, set in the Second World War.
She is a keen if not very accomplished gardener - an interest which led to her book about plant-hunters, Jack Fortune. Several of her books have been inspired by the Somerset countryside, and also by her interest in history.
This is the National Year of Reading, and to celebrate, there will be a giveaway of children's and adults' books (while stocks last!), and Sue will also have activities for children on hand.
