Landscape Artist & Tutor

Having lived on the Mendip Hills for over 25 years I love to capture the atmosphere of the local landscape in monochromatic drawings using charcoal, graphite and printmaking techniques. These mediums help me achieve the changing moods and wonderful contrasts of light and dark I observe here.
More recently I have introduced colour into my work using vibrant pastels to paint the inspiring, dramatic landscapes of both Exmoor and Dartmoor and of the landscape more close to home. Drawing and observation are at the heart of my creative practice and so mark making with pastels suits the way I like to work and respond to a landscape.
I enjoy entering my work into various exhibitions throughout the year including most recently Somerset Arts Week, the Bath Society of Artists Open, Friends of the Royal West of England Academy and the Royal Bath and West Show Open Exhibition.
