
Top Tips for Renaming Your Images
We aim to correctly assign each photograph of a piece of art you submit and consistently display the name across our website, brochure, and social media. This will help make you and your work searchable and identifiable across the internet.
Once you've chosen the best image please rename it as follows:

1st - your name followed by a hyphen
-
2nd – the title of the piece

How to Rename an Image on your Smart phone
To rename an image on your phone, use a file manager app on Android or the Files app on iPhone.
Find the image, select it, and choose the "Rename" option from the menu, often represented by three dots.
On Android

Using the Files app:

Open the "Files" or "My Files" app.

Navigate to the folder where the image is stored (e.g., "Images" or "Downloads").

Press and hold the image file to select it.

Tap the "More" menu (three dots).

Select "Rename," enter the new name, and tap "OK".

Using the Gallery app:

Open your phone's gallery app and select the image.

Tap the information icon (an "i" or three dots).

Look for an "Edit" or "Rename" option and save the new name.

On iPhone

Using the Files app:

Open the Files app and find the image.

Tap and hold the image, or tap the three dots next to it, and select "Rename".

Enter the new name and press "Done".

Using the Photos app:

To rename the filename, you must first save the image outside the Photos app, such as in the Files app.

Once in the Files app, follow the steps above to rename the file.

You can then delete the original image from the Photos app to avoid duplicates.

To add a descriptive title for your own reference, swipe up on the photo in the Photos app and add it to the "Add a title" field.

How to Rename an Image on your desktop
For Windows Users

Find the image in File Explorer.

Click once on the filename (not the thumbnail) to highlight it.

Type your new name and press Enter.
💡 Tip: You can also right-click the image and choose Rename, or press F2 after selecting the file.
For Mac Users

Open Finder and locate your image.

Click once on the filename, or right-click and select Rename.

Type the new name and press Return.
💡 Tip: To rename multiple images at once, select them all, right-click, and choose Rename X items.
